Aims

To give an overview of the therapy principles which contribute to the management of an adult with a spinal cord injury.

The course includes: Virtual tour of the Centre; Anatomy and Physiology of the spinal cord; Functional expectations; Respiratory management; Upper limb management and Posture and seating. There will plenty of opportunities to ask questions about the course material.

The course is aimed at Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy staff working in referring hospitals, the community or rehabilitation centres wishing to improve their knowledge of working with spinal cord injury patients, but other professions may attend as well. Numbers will be limited to allow for Q & A sessions.
